Young eyes looking up to a bright future

The face tells the story

Countless lives have been changed by the gift of a wheelchair.  LDS Charities, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has partnered with VIC, Veterans Intrnational Cambodia, and AAR,WCD, Association for Aid and Relief, Wheelchair for Development, in providing mobility, to those young and old, giving hope for better days ahead.  A variety of causes for the need for a wheelchair accompany the recipients. This year LDSC will provide 700 wheelchairs and walkers.

Many smiles and grateful hearts attended this Wheelchair distribution.

LDS Charities has served over 57,000 people to improve mobility, health and educational and economics opportunities for those with physical disabilities.

To enable the optimum mobility, LDSC provides individuals with different types of wheelchairs, based on their needs.  For rough terrain there are models that are better suited for them than smooth surface models.  Ensuring that the wheelchairs will offer effective long-term mobility, recipients are given training and tools for repair and maintenance.  48 countries have been recipients.

LDSC funding comes from normal everyday people who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and others.  Funding does not come from government grants or large corporate donations.  These funds support humanitarian work only. 100 percent of the funds go toward project expenses.

LDSC serves all races, nationalities and religions, helping others, as God would have his children do.
